Miscellaneous

I know it has been a minute..... Or an hour. I actually think it has been a couple of days :-). So anyway, yea, MIGHTY MANCHESTER UNITED won their 19th league title surpassing Liverfluke, I, I mean Liverpool as the most successful English team. But I will talk about that later. Now, lets talk music. Why do we like music? I guess it is for different reasons. I love music because it makes everything much better. Not okay, just much better. It is that powerful. It has the ability to change your mood in an instant and I guess that is what makes it so beautiful. So now, in this industry, (look at me talking as if I am a musician, lol) there are of course on hit wonders and timeless artists. The latter are those who have been able to beat the test of time and make hit after hit (jealous me). RE-INVENTION is the name of the game. Below are some of the artists I think have been able to do that successfully.

BEYONCE- Love her, hate her (I fall under the former) B gat it. Since her Destiny Child days (which reminds me of an episode of One on One where Breanna wore some skimpy outfit then she telling Flex that she wanna "...give Beyonce a run for her money". Flex's replies "Well you are not Destiny's child you are MY child, now Beyonce your butt back in there and change" x-D) she has been at the top of her game. The girl/woman can gerrit. She chucks chart toppers, one after the other. Whether in a group or solo, she does her thing and was able to make the transition from the interesting (for lack of a better word) 1990 to the fun and hip 21st century. She has the golden touch (whether you like it or not) and is going to be releasing more golden albums years to come. My personal favourite B song is 'Ave Maria'. I hold firm that it is one of the most BEAUTIFUL songs ever recorded. To date.

JAY-Z- Yes, even with his abnormally humongous lips (poor B), his music sense is top notch. From 'Izzo' to 'DOA' (actually Blueprint 3 is like one of the best albums EVER), Hovva has been able to re-invent himself over two decades to remains one of the most sought after rappers. Plus the fact that he is actually TALENTED (Soulja Boy is not a musician. He just is not) does not hurt. He can freestyle and leave you with goosebumps  He is that good. He still keeps it fresh to death (when was the last time you heard that?) and I am sure, not unless he decides to retire or Illuminati decide he has served his purpose, we will be listening to Jay for just that much longer (hahaha, just remembered how Gloria from Modern Family calls Jay "Yay, Yay") and so will our kids even.

MARIAH -I was gonna put Whitney here but her comeback failed. Miserably. And now she is back in rehab (hint hint at all the crack heads out there). So anyway, Mariah is an incredible artist, her diva antics aside. (but I do not blame her. If I had all that money, I would probably do the same, if not more and so would you so stop judging :p) From her 'Hero' days to where she is right now, Mrs. Cannon *shiver* has been quite simply phenomenal in her career. The fact that almost 20 years after she released her first hit she can still draw crowds of millions shows she is doing something right. Call it luck or what you may but whatever it is, is has been working. Very well.

These are just among the top timeless artists. There are so many more like CHER, Bust Rhymes, Daughtry, Eminem, MJ etc. The ability of an artist to be able to successfully entertain his/her fans year in, year out is what this business is all about. Quite simply, it is an ART that few master. Most lose the plot very early in the game. And just a random thought, what would happen if we lived in a world without music? *shudder*

Now, on to football, WE WON. Hahahaha, I will not even try be modest about it because as someone once said, 'Modesty is a trait reserved for under-achievers'. We won. You are all just second-rate teams. We beat you. All of you. We won, you did not. Losers (okay, I am done gloating). Title number 19 and still counting. And people still wonder why I worship the very ground SIR ALEX FERGUSON walks on (okay, figuratively, not literally speaking). And who better to gift us the title than Wazza? Truly phenomenal although I still do not understand how Blackburn gave us such a hard time after we demolished them 7-1 in the alternate fixture this season. Then to cap off the BEST week in football this year (Barca won their 21st La Liga title on Wednesday), Chelsea drew, Arsenal lost and Liverpool were thrashed by SPURS (2nd favourite English team). Oh the joy. All is right in the word of football at this moment. MAN UNITED, English champions; Barcelona, Spanish Champions; AC Milan, Italian champions and who cares what happens in the Bundesliga, as long as Bayerrn do not win it. Now we look forward to collecting our 20th title next season.

As I sign out, booyah!
